- A new managed service from AWS, that helps enterprises to deploy and manage their own private 5G mobile network on AWS
- Businesses can specify their network, region and capacity, and AWS will deliver and maintain small cell radio units, servers, 5G core, radio access network (RAN) software, and subscriber identity modules (SIM cards) that are required to set up a private 5G network and establish connectivity
How about Pricing?
AWS Private 5G adopts the well-known AWS ‘pay-as-you-go’ pricing model. An under control, predictable monthly fee is charged based on two variables: the number of radio units you have requested and the maximum configured throughput for the network. There is no information available publicly yet, on whether there is a minimum lock-in period, or the billing treatment if users exceed that configured number (tier change, overage, etc…). While it might be a wait-and-watch game for now, the simplified pricing is unlike any model offered by existing telco providers across the world.
